How download and print barcode labels

What are barcode labels?

Barcode labels are small labels that can be downloaded via a PDF. Once they have been downloaded, Barcode labels can be be printed onto plain or adhesive labels to be attached to products in store.

This provides you with a scannable reference for all of your products that works seamlessly with Airsquare POS application's scan tab.

To download barcode labels, you must have already setup at least one Barcode label template under Commerce > Products > Barcode label templates. You'll find more info here.

How do I download barcode labels for multiple products?

In the admin area

  1. Go to Commerce > Products > Products.

  2. Tick the checkbox on the left of the table for all the products you want to download barcode labels for.

  3. Once you've selected all the products you want to print barcode labels for, click the dropdown menu under the table.

  4. Scroll down to where it says Download barcode labels.

  5. Click Go, this will open the Download barcode labels page.

  6. Choose a Label template from the dropdown, this will define the labels content and layout.

  7. Choose a Pricing tier from the dropdown, this will define the price used on the label.

  8. Choose a Currency from the dropdown, this will define the currency symbol used on the label.

  9. Add quantities to the products in the table, this can be done by clicking Pre-fill all quantities using current stock level or by adding a QUANTITY for the relevant products.

  10. Click Download, this will download a PDF of barcode labels and return you to Commerce > Products where a success message will be displayed.

Note using Pre-fill all quantities using current stock level will only add quantities if a product uses stock control and currently has stock.

How do I download barcode labels for a single product?

  3. Click sub products, this will display the table of sub products

How do I print the labels?

You'll need to ensure the label printer is already installed beforehand.

Once you've downloaded your labels:

  1. Open the PDF and click Print.

  2. Select the right printer.

  3. Ensure the paper size matches your chosen printer/label size.

  4. Ensure the scale is set to 100%

  5. Ensure the orientation is set correctly.

  6. Click Print!

Do my products need a barcode to download a barcode label?

Barcode labels can be printed with a barcode if the product does not have a barcode or the Barcode label template has show barcode set to No.

What happens if my product doesn't have one or more of the fields that are specified in the barcode label template?

If any of the barcode label template fields do not exist in a product, then that field is not added to the barcode label.
