How download and print name badges for event and session tickets

What are name badges?

Name badges are small labels that can be downloaded as a PDF for event or session tickets to display your logo and the name and/or organisation of the ticket holder. Once they have been downloaded, name badges can then be printed onto plain or adhesive labels for ticket holders to wear. This provides you with an easy way to create name badges for any or all of the people attending an event or session.

To download name badges, you must have already added at least one name badge template, see How do I add a name badge template?.

How do I download name badges for multiple event tickets?

In the admin area

There are two ways to download multiple name badges for an event, you can either download name badges for all of the event tickets or you can download name badges for a specific selection of event tickets.

To download name badges for all of the event tickets:

  1. Go to Commerce > Events > Events.

  2. Find the event that has the tickets you'd like to download name badges for and click on it.

  3. Click the Tickets tab below the event title.

  4. Select Name badges from the Downloads drop-down menu above the tickets list.

  5. Select an option from the Badge template drop-down menu.

  6. Click the Download button.

To download name badges for a specific selection of event tickets:

  1. Go to Commerce > Events > Events.

  2. Find the event that has the tickets you'd like to download name badges for and click on it.

  3. Click the Tickets tab below the event title.

  4. Tick the checkboxes of the tickets you want to download a name badge for.

  5. Click the drop-down menu below the tickets list.

  6. Select Download name badges.

  7. Click the Go button.

How do I download a name badge for a single event ticket?

In the admin area

  1. Go to Commerce > Events > Events.

  2. Find the event that has the ticket you'd like to download a name badge for and click on it.

  3. Click the Tickets tab below the event title.

  4. Find the ticket you'd like to download a name badge for and click on it.

  5. Select Name badges from the Downloads drop-down in the top right.

  6. Select an option from the Badge template drop-down menu.

  7. Click the Download button.

How do I download name badges for multiple session tickets?

In the admin area

  5. Click the Tickets tab below the session title.

  6. Select Name badges from the Downloads drop-down menu above the tickets list.

  7. Select an option from the Badge template drop-down menu.

  8. Click the Download button.

To download name badges for a specific selection of session tickets:

  1. Go to Commerce > Events > Events.

  2. Find the event with the session that has the tickets you'd like to download name badges for and click on it.

  3. Click the Sessions tab below the event title

  4. Find the session that has tickets you'd like to download name badges for and click on it.

  5. Click the Tickets tab below the session title.

  6. Tick the checkboxes of the tickets you want to download a name badge for.

  7. Click the drop-down menu below the tickets list.

  8. Select Download name badges.

  9. Click the Go button.

How do I download a name badge for a single session ticket?

In the admin area

  1. Go to Commerce > Events > Events.

  2. Find the event with the session that has the ticket you'd like to download a name badge for and click on it.

  3. Click the Sessions tab below the event title

  4. Find the session that has tickets you'd like to download name badges for and click on it.

  5. Click the Tickets tab below the session title.

  6. Find the ticket you'd like to download a name badge for and click on it.

  7. Select Name badges from the Downloads drop-down in the top right.

  8. Select an option from the Badge template drop-down menu.

  9. Click the Download button.

How do I print the name badges?

You'll need to ensure the label printer is already installed beforehand.

Once you've downloaded your name badges:

  1. Open the PDF and click Print.

  2. Select the right printer.

  3. Ensure the paper size matches your chosen printer/badge size.

  4. Ensure the scale is set to 100%

  5. Ensure the orientation is set correctly.

  6. Click the Print button.

Do tickets need a person to download a name badge?

Name badges can be printed for tickets that do not have a person assigned as the ticket holder. However without a ticket holder, the only content that will be printed on the name badge is your logo.

What happens if a ticket holder doesn't have a name or organisation?

Only the content that is available will be printed on a name badge, so if a ticket holder does not have a name or an organisation then that space will be left blank.
