What is Smartpay?
Smartpay allows you to accept in-person credit card payments using one of their card readers. You use it in-conjunction with the Airsquare POS to process in-store sales.
Airsquare POS talks to the reader so you don't need to enter the amount manually. This looks more professional, saves time and removes double entry errors.
Which countries does Smartpay support?
Australia and New Zealand.
Does Smartpay work with the browser version of Airsquare POS?
Yes it does! It works with all our supported POS platforms (any browser, iOS app, Android app).
How do I get Smartpay?
Go to Smartpay New Zealand or Smartpay Australia and sign up. Mention that you're wanting to use Smartpay with Airsquare.
How do I connect Smartpay to Airsquare POS?
Turn on your Smartpay reader.
Fire up the Airsquare POS, and click the menu icon in the top left. Go to Settings.
Click on Smartpay reader.
Enter the pairing code. How do I get a pairing code?
Click the tick icon top right.
If successful the modal will close and it'll be connected!
How do I charge a card using Smartpay and Airsquare POS?
Once you've connected your Smartpay reader to Airsquare POS you can then put through a card payment:
In Airsquare POS, add things to the cart.
Click Checkout (bottom right).
Click CARD
Optionally change the amount to charge (you may want to do a split payment).
Click CHARGE CARD.
The customer will then be prompted to present their card and pay.
If payment is successful the modal will close and you'll see 'Card' and an amount captured in the payment summary.
You can then click "PLACE ORDER" to put through the sale.
I've charged the customer the wrong amount, can I refund the card?
If you've not clicked PLACE ORDER yet, you can click the bin icon to refund the card payment.
How do I disconnect Smartpay from Airsquare?
Fire up the Airsquare POS, and click the menu icon in the top left. Go to Settings.
Click on Smartpay reader.
Click 'Forget reader' button
You can now either pair another reader or close the modal
