What are affiliates?
Affiliates are individuals or organisations that will market your website to potential customers in exchange for a percentage of any orders that are generated via their marketing. This can be a useful way for you to market your website to new customers.
How do affiliates market my website?
Once you have added an affiliate, you can share a URL link with the relevant party that will be marketing your website. They can then share this link with potential customers who will use it to navigate to your website. Once the customer has used the link, the affiliate will be automatically added to any orders that the customer makes.
How do I add an affiliate?
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Settings > Affiliates.
Click the Add button in the top right.
Enter a Name.
Enter a Commission percentage.
Click the Add button.
How do I find and share the affiliate URL link?
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Settings > Affiliates.
Find the affiliate that you are looking for and click on it.
The Affiliate URL link is displayed near the top of the page.
Click the Copy icon beside the Affiliate URL link to copy the link.
Paste the link into an email or message and share it with the relevant party.
How do I add an affiliate to an existing order?
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Orders > Orders.
Find the order that you are looking for and click on the View button in the Options column.
Click the Edit button in the top right.
Select an Affiliate from the drop-down menu.
Click the Update button.
How do I edit an affiliate?
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Settings > Affiliates.
Find the affiliate that you are looking for and click the Edit button in the Options column.
Edit the affiliate's details.
Click the Update button.
How do I delete an affiliate?
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Settings > Affiliates.
Find the affiliate that you are looking for and click the Delete button in the Options column.
Click the Delete button to confirm.
How do I see which orders have an affiliate?
There are two ways to view which orders have an affiliate, either by viewing individual orders or by viewing the affiliate.
In the admin area
To view an order:
Go to Commerce > Orders.
Find the order that you are looking for and click on the View button in the Options column.
If the order has an affiliate, you'll see it displayed.
To view an affiliate:
Go to Commerce > Settings > Affiliates.
Find the affiliate that you are looking for and click the View button in the Options column.
If the affiliate has been added to any orders, the orders will be displayed in the Orders table.
How do I see the totals for affiliate orders over a time period?
You can view a report on the sales by an affiliate for your website, by default the report will show the results of the orders that have been created in the last month, but this can be changed by updating the report filters.
In the admin area
Go to Commerce > Reports > Sales by affiliate.
Click the Filter button in the top right.
Select a Currency.
Either select a Timeframe or select a Date range.
Click the Update button.
The report will be updated to show the results of the orders that match the filter criteria.
