How to add, edit and delete an order comment

What is an order comment?

An order comment is a way of recording additional information that is linked to an order. You can add multiple comments which can be very useful if you need to record ongoing information about an order such as payments.

Order comments are for internal use only and are never visible to a customer.

What is the difference between a comment and a note?

An order can have multiple comments but can only have one internal or customer note. This makes comments better suited for recording repeating information over a period of time while a note is better suited for recording non-repeating information.

How do I add a comment to an order?

  1. Go to Commerce > Orders. 

  2. Find the person you are looking for and click the View button in the Options column.

  3. Click the Comments tab under the order number.

  4. Click the Add button in the top right.

  5. Enter a Comment.

  6. Click the Add button.

How do I edit a comment?

  1. Go to Commerce > Orders.

  2. Find the order you are looking for and click the View button in the Options column.

  3. Click the Comments tab under the order number.

  4. Find the comment you are looking for and click the Edit button in the Options column.

  5. Edit the Comment.

  6. Click the Update button.

How do I delete a comment?

  1. Go to Commerce > Orders.

  2. Find the order you are looking for and click the View button in the Options column.

  3. Click the Comments tab under the person name/number.

  4. Find the comment you are looking for and click the Delete button in the Options column.

  5. Click the Delete button.
