What are measurement units?

Measurement units are used to define how your products and sub products are tracked, stored, and sold.

How do measurement units work?

Once a measurement unit is added to a product or sub product, the appropriate name or symbol will be displayed alongside its quantity throughout the Airsquare system. This helps ensure consistency and clarity across your website, admin, POS, and mobile app.

For example, if a product is sold in volume-based units like cubic metres, adding the cubic metre measurement unit means the symbol will be displayed wherever the product quantity is displayed, making it easier for staff and customers to understand exactly how much is being purchased or managed.

Note: Once a product or sub product has been used in a purchase order, stock take or order with a measurement unit, then the measurement unit cannot be removed or changed (this includes products with sub products that used an inherited measurement unit). This is to ensure consistency and accuracy in historical data and reporting.

What measurement units can I use?

There is a range of metric, imperial and miscellaneous measurement units available for you to use. The following table contains all of the current measurement units, please note that the code in never displayed and is only intended for use with product import spreadsheets.
